The boat returned at 7pm with 17 beautiful yellowtail and lots of sunburn. The biggest yellowtail yesterday was caught by regular, Joe Ferris, with a 32.65lber. Nice Joe! It was weighed on the boat and then again when they got to the dock, so they could weigh to the ounce. Really appreciate all the new anglers coming onboard and checking out the operation – we hope to see you again in the future on a 1.5 day trip and then maybe after that try a 4 or a 5 day trip – well you see where this is going.
We are definitely going again tonight – we have 19 passengers and for anyone else that can get away and fish tomorrow (to return 6-7pm tomorrow ) this will be a one time opportunity to fish locally with a light load on the American Angler and the forecast for tomorrow….flat calm.

The guys checked in earlier this morning to let us know that the weather is flat calm and that they had 12 yellowtail on board. Tonight’s one day trip is full, but there is still space on Sat. night – fishing Sunday trip
(if you can get out of going to church….or family day, or better yet, just bring the family fishing!) This is fun!
The guys are excited to get their feet wet and fish locally for a few days and the response has been really positive. The trips fishing this Friday and Saturday are full, and so the crew decided to open up one more trip that will fish this Sunday, April 21st. Call the office – come fishing!

We are ready and the boat is beautiful….you’ll be the first to break in the new carpet, pillows and other amenities
Checking in from the American Angler, we’re still alive, well and have been in our maintenance period…. Like every year (and this year is no exception), it’s been a good one.
The Crew has been working everyday on the boat since the arrival of the last fishing trip which returned in late Feb., ran by Capt Ray Lopez, and as of today we are wrapping up boatwork for a completion date a week before Day of The Docks.
Most commonly asked question ……What are you guys doing to the boat this year?
Answer – this year we did everything from painting the Mast to replacing the combings of the fish holes. There is countless hours involved in operating one of these Long Range boats every year and some improvements our customers notice but most of what we do, goes unoticed and is behind the scenes. Just giving back to our girl who is so good to us, and this is the time to return the favor. Won’t go into any more detail now…..you’ll have to see for yourself at Day of the Docks, the boat is in Cherry condition (again) right now and ready to Rock!
We have a few photos of the crew who have been busting their Butts to tear the boat up and then put it all back together again to keep her in the condition you all expect that translates to well over 1600 man hours.(check out picture of veggie box built by Steve Leonhart – it’s beef and beautiful!)
As the guys began unloading giants this morning, it brought all those daily fish reports to life.
16 tuna over 200 pounds – 4 of those over 300lbs – nice mid range 100lbers – jackets and 100lb/200lb tshirts were flying out of the office this morning. A huge thanks to Ken Corwin, who loves to fish so much that he infects everyone around him with his passion….thank you for all you do! Also thanks to all the passengers who meshed and made the trip by working together for two weeks. See some of the boat pics below and check out jackpot winners:
