40 ON DECK, STILL FISHING!

Posted by admin in Trip Reports

Well today was outstanding fishing on 60 to 75lb BFT. It is getting to be Sundown right now and every once in while we hook a new one. I would like to give credit to our friends Tim and Randy for getting us up here today to enjoy this type of fishing, (which we havn’t seen in several years) on this grade of fish.
Mind you, this isn’t slam dunk type fishing – it took a lot of time and patience today, but the end result was priceless.
The photos of the day are just some of the gang and as you can see -this is real.

GOOD NIGHT.

MOVING UP

Posted by admin in Trip Reports

We spent the morning at the Rocks for a few more Yellowtail and did see Tuna however did not hook any… One of Code Boats may have found something tasty up the line, but I won’t spoil the fun and let all of Internet Fisherman figure out what is going on?
We’ll be there in the morning – but most of you won’t,

GOOD NIGHT AND WISH US LUCK,
The Boyz

RUNNING TO THE WEST

Posted by admin in Trip Reports

Today we had very good Yellowtail fishing which gave us about all that we needed and the grade was awesome as shown in the photo of the day featuring Mr. Charlie. The weather has subsided 12 to 14 kts – plenty good enough. We are running out to the Rocks in hopes of catching a few Jackpot fish and then we’ll just take it from there.
We still have a few days left to make something happen on the Tuna side of things as we head up the line.

GOOD NIGHT

The Guys

P.S. Happy Birthday to Barbara from Charlie, hugs and kisses.

TODAY WAS MORE LIKE IT!

Posted by admin in Trip Reports

After a very windy first day of looking, today was just what the doctor ordered… calm seas and light winds. We didn’t arrive at our destination till after lunch but the afternoon worked out just fine with very steady Yellowtail fishing and gave us a nice jumpstart to our trip. We have plenty of time to fish and it looks like the weather is going to give us a break for now, and we’ll take it.
The photo of the day is Larry with one of his many Yellows he caught today.

GOOD NIGHT AND WISH US GOOD LUCK.

The AA Boyz.

P.S. To Terry from Mike (he misses you already) And Randy says hi to all his Family.

Today was one of those days that just didn’t seem like things were going to happen on the offshore scene with the winds up to (and a few gusts over) the 25 knot bar. We are hoping on the back side of the trip, we can try it again with better weather conditions.
Today’s photo is Richard T hooking a Yellow on the Plug – we made a stop late in the afternoon that started the trip up. We are still heading down to points South and we’ll check in tomorrow – the weather should be getting better as well.

GOOD NIGHT AND WE ARE BACK ON LINE!

The AA Boyz.

The guys have spent a couple months doing shows, maintenance and spending a little quality time with the family, but now they are SO ready to go fishing – our first trip departs on this Saturday, May 26th.

There is excitement in the air as the local fleet are catching yellowtail at the islands
(they are nice ones too, you should get out there – 20lbs +!!) and the American Angler crew is beginning to assemble at the dock, pace and talk fish, after their well-deserved time off.
Everyone agrees that this Saturday can’t come soon enough!

The big improvement to the boat this year was in the staterooms.  All brand new mattresses in every room, new linen and new pillows for your comfort.

And of course, the crew did maintenance in American Angler fashion – not noticeable from the exterior, but keeps everything running smoothly from the interior.

As you can see, the website has a new face and now the fishing reports will be posted on the front page and when we get openings – the spots will be posted on the schedule page.

A huge thank you to our friend, Barry Gambarana, for the years he devoted to the American Angler website that he developed and maintained.  It was his labor of love – but he has decided to pass on the baton… most likely so he can spend more time fishing!

Our season has filled out pretty well – we did just get a cancellation on the June 11th 8 day trip and there is room on trips in July, August and Sept. (6 & 7 day trips) if you’d like to call the office and get details.

We can’t wait to see everyone !!
